Where Can My Staking Rewards Be Sent?

Which addresses can receive your rewards, why rewards cannot be sent to another blockchain, and how to change the destination.

Written by Johnny

All Marinade rewards are paid on Solana, to a Solana address. This holds no matter which reward token you pick.

Whether you can choose which Solana address receives them depends on the reward token.

SOL Rewards Go to the Staking Wallet

If your rewards are paid in SOL, they are automatically compounded into your staked position in the wallet that staked it. They are not sent anywhere as a separate transfer.

SOL rewards cannot currently be redirected to a different wallet. There is no setting for this, and the rewards stay with the position that earned them.

The same applies to mSOL. Rewards accumulate in the mSOL to SOL exchange rate rather than arriving as a payment, so there is nothing to send anywhere. See How mSOL Accumulates Staking Rewards.

Non-SOL Reward Tokens Can Go to a Different Wallet

If you choose a Marinade Recipe reward token instead of SOL, for example USDG, USDC, USDT, EURC, BTC, ETH, gold, MNDE, or tokenized equities, you can have those rewards paid to a different Solana wallet from the one that holds your stake.

You set the reward wallet when you stake. Your staked SOL stays in the staking wallet; only the reward tokens go to the address you chose. See Can I Stake From One Wallet and Receive the Rewards in Another?

To change which token you receive, see How to Change Staking Reward Token.

Rewards Cannot Be Sent to Another Blockchain

Recipe reward tokens are SPL tokens on Solana, not the versions of those assets that live on other chains.

So if you choose a reward token that also exists elsewhere, the reward still arrives on Solana:

  • There is no field for an Ethereum address, a Bitcoin address, or an address on any other network.

  • An address from another chain will not work as a reward destination.

  • Marinade does not bridge rewards to other chains, and there are no plans to.

If you want your rewards on another chain, receive them on Solana first and then bridge or swap them yourself.

FAQ

Q: Can I send my SOL staking rewards to a second wallet?
A: Not at the moment. SOL rewards compound into the staked position in the wallet that staked it. If you want rewards delivered to a separate wallet, choose a Recipe reward token instead of SOL.

Q: Can I send rewards straight to an exchange deposit address?
A: It is technically a Solana address, so payments would arrive, but we do not recommend it. Exchange deposit addresses can be rotated or retired without warning, some exchanges do not credit tokens sent outside their expected flow, and small recurring epoch payments are easy for them to lose track of. Use a wallet you control.

Q: Which tokens can I receive?
A: See What Are the Recipe Payout Tokens? The list changes as Recipes are added.

Q: My chosen token is not arriving.
A: Check Why Didn't I Receive My Recipe Rewards After I Deposited? first, since the usual cause is that your stake has not been active for a full epoch yet. Also make sure the reward wallet keeps its payout token account open.
