If Marinade shows no position, or shows your position but the unstake will not go through, the wallet app is almost always connecting a different account than the one your stake is in. This is common with multi-chain and exchange-linked wallets such as Trust Wallet, Binance Web3 Wallet, MetaMask, the Base app, and Coinbase Wallet. These apps manage several accounts and chains at once, and Solana support is often secondary for them.
Check These in Order
Confirm which address is connected. Open the Marinade app and look at the address shown in the top right. Compare it with the address that holds your stake. If they differ, switch accounts inside your wallet app and reconnect.
Confirm the account is not view-only. Some apps let you watch an address without holding its key. A watched account can display a position but can never sign a transaction. If the app offers no signing prompt at all, this is what is happening.
Confirm your wallet app supports Solana accounts fully. Multi-chain in-app wallets sometimes create a separate Solana account from the one you used originally, or support Solana only partially.
Confirm you have SOL for network fees in the connected account.
Switch to a dedicated Solana wallet for a better experience. Wallets built specifically for Solana, such as Phantom, Solflare, or Backpack, handle account selection, signing, and token display correctly. You do not need a new wallet: search how to import your existing wallet into one of these using your existing recovery phrase, and your accounts and balances carry over. If the position appears and signs correctly there, the issue was the wallet app, not your stake.
Your Stake Is Not Lost
Marinade Native keeps your SOL in stake accounts owned by your address. Marinade cannot move it and neither can anyone else without your key. If you cannot see it, you are looking from the wrong account.
You can confirm this yourself. Open https://solscan.io/account/YOUR_ADDRESS#stakeAccounts and you will see the stake accounts and their balances.
FAQ
Q: Solscan says my SOL is owned by address 11111111111111111111111111111111. Is it gone?
A: No. That is the Solana System Program, and it is the normal owner field for a stake account. It does not mean your SOL was sent anywhere.
Q: The wallet app shows my position but nothing happens when I unstake. Why?
A: The app is almost certainly in view-only mode for that account, so there is no key to sign with. Connect the account in a wallet that holds the key.
Q: Do I lose anything by importing my wallet into Phantom, Solflare, or Backpack?
A: No. Importing uses your existing recovery phrase, so the same accounts and balances are available. Your original wallet app still works as before: this just gives you a second, more reliable way to manage the Solana side.
Q: Who can fix my wallet app?
A: Only the app's own support team can change how it selects or imports Solana accounts. Marinade has no control over it. Your stake stays where it is in the meantime.
