Stake Your SOL with Marinade Liquid

Marinade makes it easy to stake your SOL through Liquid staking. This guide walks you through the full staking process, step by step.

Written by Johnny

Step 1: Visit the Marinade App

Step 2: Connect Your Wallet

  • Click Connect Wallet in the top-right corner of the screen and choose your preferred wallet provider. When prompted, approve the connection by clicking Connect.

Step 3: Open Marinade Liquid

  • Go to the Earn tab in the top navigation.

  • Click the Marinade Liquid banner, shown below the Marinade Native card. This opens the Liquid staking flow directly, so mSOL is already selected. There is no settings icon or staking-type toggle here, that only applies to Marinade Native, whichever token its rewards are paid in.

You can also go straight to https://app.marinade.finance/earn/liquid/.

  • Enter the amount of SOL you want to stake, click the Stake button, and approve the transaction in your wallet.

    • You must stake at least 1.0023 SOL.

⚠️ Note: Solana charges ~0.003 SOL for creating a token account for the first time. This is a blockchain-level fee, not charged by Marinade.

Step 3B: Migrate Stake (for existing LST stakers)

If you're already using liquid staking, you can migrate your stake to Marinade. This allows your SOL to be delegated across a diversified set of validators instead of a single one.

  • Select the external LST positions you wish to migrate, then stake them with Marinade.

Already staked with Marinade Native, whether your rewards are paid in SOL or in a Marinade Recipes reward token, and want mSOL instead? There is no in-place conversion: you unstake, then stake again as Liquid. See Can I Switch From Marinade Native to mSOL?

Step 4: Staking Confirmation

Congratulations! Your SOL is now staked!

  • For Liquid staking users: You will see mSOL in your wallet immediately. You can hold it or use it in DeFi across the Solana ecosystem.
