Migrate stake account to Marinade

Easily move your existing SOL stake accounts to Marinade for optimized delegation or liquid staking rewards.

Already staking with a validator? Marinade makes it easy to migrate your existing stake account—either by converting it into mSOL or redelegating it to Marinade Native. Even if your validator is currently excluded from Marinade’s delegation strategy, your stake will still be accepted and automatically redelegated within 1–2 epochs (if eligible).

You can migrate any eligible staked SOL account directly to Marinade. This offers two flexible paths:

  • Marinade Native – Spread your stake across multiple validators using Marinade’s optimized delegation strategy, rather than locking it with just one.

  • Marinade Liquid (mSOL) – Seamlessly convert your stake into mSOL, unlocking liquidity without the need to manually unstake and restake.

Whether you’re aiming to optimize rewards or access DeFi with liquid staking, Marinade’s migration flow is simple, seamless, and gas-efficient.

Step 1: Visit the Marinade App

Navigate to https://app.marinade.finance to get started.

Step 2: Connect Your Staked Account Wallet

Click Connect Wallet in the top-right corner of the screen. Select the wallet that holds the staked position you want to migrate.

Step 3: Select the Staking Option and Stake Account to Migrate

Depending on your preferred staking strategy, follow one of the two paths below:

A. Migrate to Marinade Native

  • Select “Migrate Stake” from the default Native staking page.

  • If you have multiple stake accounts, use the dropdown menu to navigate between them.

  • Enter the amount of SOL you want to migrate.
  • Confirm the migration and approve the transaction in your wallet.

B. Migrate to Marinade Liquid

  • Open the “More” dropdown in the main navigation and choose “Liquid”.

  • Click the dropdown to select the specific stake account you wish to migrate.

  • Enter the amount of SOL you want to migrate.

  • Confirm the migration and approve the transaction in your wallet.

⚠️ Why You Might Not Be Able to Migrate

If you're unable to migrate your stake account, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The stake account is not yet activated.
    It takes up to two epochs for activation. Try again later.

  • The stake account contains less than 1 SOL.
    To avoid spam and overload, a minimum stake size of 1 SOL is required.

Step 4: Successfully Migrate Your Position

Congratulations! You have successfully migrated your stake account to Marinade.

  • If you migrated to Marinade Native, your position will now benefit from Marinade’s validator delegation strategy.

  • If you migrated to Liquid staking, you will receive mSOL in your wallet, ready for use in DeFi.
